I am so happy!

So mum and dad are arriving on saturday and i cannot contain my excitement! I can't wait to see their faces, and it's cracking news for me that they're staying only a stones throw away! Love you both so much! Canny wait for the Edge's to be reunited!

The weather is continuing to be amazing, which makes our days off incredible!
Jen, Danny, Will and I went for a lovely afternoon ski (see photos below) the snow is also still so fresh so we just glide! Jens also so excited about her pink skis, to be fair they're pretty special, and match her outfit.. what more could a girl want?! I couldn't be happier to be surrounded by such a good bunch of people, this really is the life for me!

Lesson checks with Jen!

So this week me and Jen were on lesson checks together, we had Arnaud and Pierre who are two of our favourite evo 2 instructors! We had improvers so we both had a good group each! some a little more advanced than others so we didn't stay together, but always exchanged a cheeky wave on the chair lift! I absolutely love lesson checks, and the weather this week has been absolutely amazing, but also freezing, we were at the top of the Olympique and it was -22 degrees! so so so bloody cold! Our instructors definitely help make our jobs easier too, they're amazing and make the children so happy, which makes our jobs alot easier and we can send them back to their parents wearing huge smiles!

Me and Jen decided to swap uniforms with Pierre and Arnaud and it was hilarious to say the least, their coats drowned us, but they were so warm! We could have definitely passed for Evo 2 instructors! We looked the part! What another amazing week, I'm so happy to be doing something i love, with some amazing people and in such a beautiful place! I am LUCKY!

Transfer day fun!

So being an ex HA, i tend to help the current HA's out on transfer day, as i know the drill.. transfer days can be stressful as you need to deep clean every room, public area and basically everything in the hotel within a very short turn around! But that doesn't mean we can't have fun.. because we definitely do! Vicki and I have a great linen collecting system, we take all the linen (so bed sheets, duvet covers, towels, pillow cases etc) out of every room and we make huuuge piles of linen and roll them into massive snowballs and roll them around the hotel floors, without being there and partaking, it really does't sound that fun.. but we did use bed sheets as togas which was quite an entertaining activity! You see, transfer day is not everyones favourite day of the week, it's definitely the worst, so you have to make the best of a tedious day! But it does mean new guests, which is always fun! Anyway, i need to sleep! ciao x

Sibling ski day!

So my brother, Nathan, is also doing a season but over in our neighbouring resort-Tignes, which (thankfully) is only a 10/15 minute ski away. As we've both been majorly busy trying to settle into new jobs and just generally living the wonderful thing that is seasonaire life, we haven't managed to meet up yet! Clashing rotas and opposite days off are not a fantastic mix! Either way,  today i saw him! We met in Tignes, went up the Funicular and went all the way to the top! the view was incredible, and the snow was perfect! We had a great afternoon, had a cheeky ski, good catch up etc, it's nice knowing he's not far away either, plus he knew his way around the slopes which was perfect as we all just followed! Well he zoomed off as he's a ridiculously fast skier, like crazy fast! But.. it was great to catch up and hopefully we'll see a bit more of each other in the coming weeks!

FRAT PARTYYYYYY

So last night was the Frat Party at Moris Pub! We were all very much looking forwards to it, we all got our outfits sorted! Me and Beck were going as geeks, and Alex, Jen and Vicki dressed up as goths! There were a multitude of outfits between us, goths, geeks, jocks, chavs etc. we all looked wicked! It was a hilarious night, very cheap drinks, twister, body shots and a lot of other crazy things, there were a bunch of old men dressed very scantily in mankinis, a sight which will haunt me forever, i saw some things that night i never wish to see again! Still very entertaining though, there were live bands playing, all sorts going on which made it all the more fun! Twister was beyond funny, everyone got involved, a tangled mess of limbs in all sorts of positions!

Very funny night, thanks MORIS! :D

Work, work, work!

I'm enjoying work a lot more now, probably because i actually know what i'm doing and am comfortable in my job role! A part of me kind of misses being a HA talking to guests and serving them in the evening, but i must say being a ranger is a lot more fun! Don't get me wrong sometimes it's very stressful as you've got loads of children to look after and tend to in a very small space of time, one thing they don't tend to understand is that there are a lot of them, and only a few of us!.. so sometimes it's rather overwhelming! But it's a lot of fun, i love lesson checks! we have some of the most amazing ski instructors with Evo 2, they're hilarious! and make work so much fun, the children love them aswell and are actually excited to walk to ski lessons in the morning to go skiing, the other shifts we do, such as snow club- an afternoon club for children where we do activities such as bum boarding, going to the farm, go to the park etc, cocoa club- an evening club which we hold in our snow club room every night from 7.30-10, we have an activity plan which consists of arts and crafts, games, challenges etc. Mini cocoa, for our younger children, ages 3-5, this is where we read stories and play some games to wind them down before they go to sleep, which many of them do during the course of the club anyway! And last but not least baby listening, this is where we sit on the hotel corridor, for 3.5-4 hours and listen in on children every 15 minutes whilst their parents enjoy their 3 course meal! It's a boring shift, but if you have a book or something to do then it flies by, and also a lot of parents come up earlier than 11pm anyway, which always makes us very happy!

New Years..

So, it's NYE, we decide to have everyone round and have a few pre drinks, as people turn up, there are a few a lot more fear gone than others, which causes disputes etc, ruins the start of the night but hey ho.. you get over it! Life is a good as it gets, i'm surrounded by some amazing people, and am ready to have a great night! Little did we know that new year in Val was going to be a complete an utter disappointment! There were no fireworks on display apart from the ones some lunatics were throwing! Safe to say, Nye never really happened.. however, the following evening, there was the most spectacular fireworks display i've ever seen, it was amazing! All in all, the 1st of Jan, was NYE for all of us in Val!
